In the dark, the wet pavement shone like a trail of starlight, looking beautifully out of place in the grimy little town. For her, seeing something so different from the dirt and the fights, from the blood and the cruel, disgusting people that she was so used to—it was amazing, breathtaking, even. It wouldn’t last for long, but it was a sight she’d treasur
